Mary Graham
is the Executive Director and co-founder of SAFE in Canada where she was instrumental in the development and delivery of the SAFE program in 1990. In 2004 Mary won the 'Courage to Come Back Award' for Mental Health. Mary was a consumer of various health services for twenty years. She received effective treatment from the SAFE program in the USA and continues to draw from her experiences to assist others who self-abuse to achieve a more rapid and respectful recovery. Mary has not only supported individuals who self-abuse but has also trained thousands of professionals in the field, delivering over 2000 workshops, including 800 in New Zealand and Australia. These workshops have provided coping strategies and skills across the board for those who self-abuse, professionals and other significant people in their lives.
Mary was employed for two years by Spectrum, an organisation in Melbourne that works with individuals who have Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).
We were privileged to have Mary join us on the launch of SAFE in Oz two day training workshop 'An Introduction To Working With Individuals Who Self-Abuse'.
